Congress shits on the poor.5 July 2006
Congress did not pass the raising of minimum wage. Apparently $200 a week is plenty to live on! Riiiiiight. But they got a raise, and that’s really what matters. Riiiiiight. Democrats, if you don’t use this for the upcoming elections you’re dumber than everyone thinks. Hmm, that makes me ponder. Did the Dems sabotage this to make it an issue they could use? Nah, they aren’t that smart, nor are they that evil…the Repubs though! Dang they’re both smart and evil! Some people are so lucky! Mad (and poor) Read Comments (0)
Raising the Minimum Wage.28 June 2006
So, the federal minimum wage has not been raised in 9 years. Well, in those 9 years Congress has voted themselves 9 raises, totaling about $31,000 in raises alone (not counting base salary here). Right, so that means that Congress, in the last 9 years, has given THEMSELVES raises totaling about three times as much as someone making minimum wage makes in a year. Does this seem right to anyone at all? We need to do more than just raise minimum wage. We need to make narrowing the massive gap between the rich and the poor. We know, it’s no secret, that when minimum wage is raised the prices of things will go up so that corporations can keep their profit margins, and execuatives their fat pay checks. How about a law on the allowed difference between the most wealthy, and poorest of the poor? Mad Read Comments (0)
Alien Skulls and “Star Child”3 June 2006
You may have heard of the Star Child and the supposed alien skulls, if not, here’s a nice article on the phenomenon and possible “rational” explanations. The question begs, why are aliens always considered “irrational”? Is it just because we haven’t, officially, found any? Tsk tsk. That’s not good science or reasoning! Mad Read Comments (0)
